Tel: 905-522-1155, ext. 3652 Mark Watling earned his MD from Dalhousie University in 1994. After completing his psychiatry residency in 1999, he worked at the Nova Scotia Hospital In Halifax as an outpatient psychiatrist and as consulting psychiatrist to the region's Assertive Community Outreach Team. He was active in teaching medical students and in supervising residents, and was an Assistant Professor at Dalhousie University. In 2000 he completed a clinical fellowship in anxiety disorders at the Anxiety Treatment and Research Centre in Hamilton. Upon completion of the fellowship, he remained at the Centre where he currently works as a clinical psychiatrist. His expertise is in the area of diagnosis and treatment of people with anxiety disorders, from both a medication and a cognitive behaviour therapy perspective. He supervises medical students and residents. He has published educational material directed at family physicians to help educate them about cognitive behaviour therapy for anxiety. He has an appointment as Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioural Neurosciences at McMaster University. |
